Our great itinerary will start from the pinecone courtyard where we’ll see how an ancient sculpture could create a dialogue with a contemporary artwork. Then we’ll walk through the first museums created here: the Pio Clementino where you will be able to admire Greek and Roman antiquities included the famous Laooconte.
Then we’ll explore the three Vatican galleries whose the maps gallery is definitely the most fascinating: 120 metros of lenght painted just in two years where 40 italian maps have been represented.
Before getting to the Sistine chapel painted by the great Michelangelo, there is one more stop: the Raphael’s rooms that was the Pope Julius II private apartment.
The genious Raphael and its school made all the decoration here where we’ll see sacred and profane, teology and philosophy. A great storytelling about the Renaissance time where church and art had been living their triumph together.
We’ll finish our tour into Saint Peter basilica, the most suggestive and beautiful church in the world where the famous Pietà by Michelangelo is kept.
